Baby animals from jungles of East Africa

There were some absolutely incredible memories we carried back from our two weeks in Tanzania and Kenya. But nothing as endearing as the sights and sounds of baby animals. Tiny, cuddly sweet and vulnerable. Being a baby in the wild expanse of the Serengeti, Samburu National park etc., is not easy. They are the soft targets for all the predators in the food chain. Constantly under the protection and tutelage of their caring and guarding parents, these babies are such a teat to the eye.

The elephant baby was so small, it has not yet acquired the skill to manoeuvre its trunk. Mama hathi had to help it nudge its tiny trunk into its mouth. The elephant cub ws so tiny - perhaps a few days / weeks old - it could barely climb the log without wobbling and falling off. The baby baboon was full of unstoppable energy and life wasn’t easy for the momma baboon trying to catch a private moment and some rest. So, catching the baby in its moment of quiet was such a joy. The baby jackels were so unsure. With momma out of sight, do they venture and play or do they just listen to their life instinct and stay put in the hole.

The list goes on … I myself was on my maiden wildlife photography session, slowly coming to grips with the challenge of capturing these dearies so far away …
